For that reason, here are some recommendations to help the process go smoothly.
• It is best to choose photos that are closely proportional to the design you will be using. For example, if you pick a design that has a close-up, it is best not to choose a picture that is a full-body shot. Also, please send the original photos. If cropping will be necessary, we will crop the photo for you and place it in the design.
• When choosing which photos to send us, clear and crisp photos work the best in the final announcement.
• It might be best to make up a preliminary list of people you would like the announcement sent to. This eliminates the need to order more and paying a second shipping cost.
Using Professional Photos
• If you are using photos taken by a professional photographer, please send a release form with the photos. If a release form is not provided, we will be unable to complete your design.
• This is the same if someone else, who is not a professional, takes your photos. While a formal release form is not needed, an email with the person's approval is necessary.
Using Your Own Photos
• Use a dark or solid background, like a bed sheet or a blanket. Dark colors bring out the subject best, but white is always nice too. Do not use blankets or clothes that have patterns as they are distracting.
• Make sure the time stamp is OFF on your camera. No one likes distracting numbers in the corner.
• Use a high-quality camera, not a cell phone or other cameras. With a good camera, it's a lot easier to get nice, in-focus, high-quality pictures for your announcement.
• Natural lighting is the best lighting. Take pictures during the day. This way the colors are not diluted or changed in any unnatural way.
• Make sure to take and send in a lot of photos. This allows us to find the perfect photo to fit into the announcement.
